Our final honoree in the Bringing Out the Best category is Vice Chancellor and Dean for Student Life Suzy Maholchic Nelson. Since 2016, Suzy has led a division of 500 MIT employees and 400 affiliates focused on residential life, student support and wellbeing, diversity, dining, athletics…and so much more. And she has had a hand in transforming the quality of all of them. In the words of one colleague: “Suzy is a brilliant and dedicated leader who works tirelessly on behalf of students. She is an empathetic listener, an exemplary mentor, and a proven problem solver. She's also at the center of creating a culture where the Division of Student Life is the best place to work at the Institute. With her can-do attitude and deep expertise, she has transformed student life at MIT.”
